Disturbing trend – Marriott not allowing girls inside
Several of my working girl friends have told me that the Marriott in the banking district, across the street from Habanos, is no longer allowing working girls to come into the property with clients.
This is very odd. The Marriott has always been girl-friendly.
What this means for Habanos, I really have no idea. I’ve always thought of it as a symbiotic relationship, of course titled towards Habanos. The Marriott doesn’t need that business – they’ll do fine without it.
When you add up all the changes, with La Bodeguita having to move because of the new hotel next door, the Veneto Hotel and Casino not allowing girls, and now the Marriott shutting the proverbial door, it looks like Panama is starting to get out of the hooker business.

Hi i noticed this article was published on Jan 8. I was wondering if this is still true about casino hotels. I will be visiting in april. thanks
January 29th, 2010 at 12:31 PMHi Charles,
The Marriott is still not allowing companions to enter the hotel.
It’s not a city-wide problem. In fact, the Veneto Hotel and Casino is letting the ladies back in. They stopped for months, then went to very sporadicly allowing entry, and now seem to be wide open, as it should be.
I know the Radisson-Decapolis has no problem with allowing girls inside.
There a re many smaller hotels that also have no problems with customers bringing in guests.
Let me say it first: Welcome to Panama
January 29th, 2010 at 1:17 PMLa Bodeguita closed for good!! I cannot believe it….that was by far the best bar ever! I am planning a trip in a few weeks and the ONLY purpose of staying the weekend was to hang out at La Bodeguita!! Did they finally move to a new location?
February 9th, 2010 at 9:46 PMYes! They are now located on Via Espana near where Ave. Brasil intersects. The club is similar to the original, though slightly larger, with a little more outside seating space.
